Do you know where a service animal can go and under what conditions? Do you know what animals can be considered service animals?

If you are front line staff, a volunteer, a manager or owner, or even an elected official you need to know the law. The goal of this workshop is for businesses and community organizations to understand and operationalize their rights and responsibilities when a service animal is on the premises. Attend this valuable workshop and learn who can have a service animal, the responsibilities of the animal handler, when a service animal can be excluded and what to do when the needs of customers with and without service animals conflict.

Meet Your Speakers: Laura Lee Putzback, ADAC, Service Dog Alliance of Florida and Merlyn Lewis, President, New Life Medical Service Dogs. Merlyn and Laura Lee strive to empower individuals with disabilities to become highly skilled service dog handlers who have access to a safe and inclusive community. Laura Lee is certified by the University of Missouri as an ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) coordinator (University of Missouri Certificate ID: 58872568-4617). Merlyn has extensive experience in training service dogs and assisting handlers with public access.

Seating is limited and registration is required. Please register with our online calendar, in person, or by calling us at (352) 726-2357.
