Stories of strength, unity, and education against the odds.

Join us for an enlightening Heritage Hour discussion on the history of Black education in Citrus County during the era of segregation. Our speaker will delve into the experiences of the local Black community, highlighting the struggles and triumphs of providing quality education despite systemic inequalities. Through the stories of George Washington Carver Elementary School and Booker T. Washington High School, discover how Citrus County’s Black community rallied together, building a foundation of perseverance and hope that endured through challenging times.
