History Hour is a series of presentations which covers manifold events in numerous eras.
The Battle of Antietam was the climax of Lee’s first invasion of the North. George B. McClellan and his Army of the Potomac raced north to interpose himself between Robert E. Lee and his Army of Northern Virginia and the Union capital at Washington D.C. The resulting battle along the banks of Antietam Creek was a combination of confusing and almost independent actions that composed the single bloodiest day of combat in American history. Over 23,000 men would be listed as casualties by the conclusion of 24 hours of battle.
Partake in a presentation of the Battle of Antietam, as well as authentic uniforms, equipment, and first-person accounts of this vital campaign in the American Civil War.
